Park Man Bok facts for kids
Park Man Bok (born August 30, 1936, in Seoul, died September 26, 2019, in Lima) was a famous South Korean volleyball player and coach. He was so important in volleyball that he was chosen to be part of the Volleyball Hall of Fame.
Early Life and Coaching in Korea
Park Man Bok studied at Kyung Hee University. After his studies, he served in the Korean Army from 1960 to 1964.
He started his coaching career in South Korea. From 1965 to 1968, he coached the team at Soong Eui Women’s College. Later, from 1969 to 1972, he coached the Korean Air team. In 1973, he coached the South Korea women's national volleyball team at the 1973 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Cup.
Coaching the Peruvian National Team
Park Man Bok became very well known for coaching the Peru national women’s volleyball team. He led them in many important international competitions.
He coached the Peruvian team at several World Championships:
- The 1974 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship
- The 1978 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship
- The 1982 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship
- The 1986 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship
