Park River is a city located in Walsh County, North Dakota, in the United States. In 2020, about 1,424 people lived there. The city was founded a long time ago, in 1884.

An interesting fact about Park River is that William Avery Rockefeller, the father of the very rich businessman John D. Rockefeller, lived here for some time. He stayed on a ranch that his son bought for him in the 1890s.

Also, in 1903, a blacksmith named Samuel Holland from Park River built his own motor car. He called it the Holland Special. He went on to build at least five more cars between 1903 and 1908.
