History of Agustín Ross Park
Becoming a National Monument
Both the Agustín Ross Park and the old casino building next to it were named National Monuments on February 25, 1988. This means they are protected and considered important parts of Chile's history and culture.
Park Features and Restoration
The park is known for its beautiful old trees and peaceful green areas. Many of the houses within the park are private homes. After some restoration work, the park became an even more popular spot for people to visit and enjoy a nice walk.
Damage from the 2010 Earthquake
In 2010, a big earthquake hit Pichilemu. The Agustín Ross Park was badly damaged during this event. All the decorative fences, called balustrades, that surrounded the park were destroyed. However, the park has been restored and continues to be a lovely place for everyone to visit.
