Parrakie, South Australia, is a small town. It is located on the Mallee Highway and the Pinnaroo railway line. The town is about 26 kilometers west of Lameroo. The name Parrakie comes from an Aboriginal word, perki. This word means "cave" or "limestone sinkhole". The town was officially surveyed and established in 1907.
