Passignano sul Trasimeno is a charming town, also known as a comune (which means municipality or local government area), located in the Umbria region of Italy. It's about 20 kilometers (12 miles) northwest of the city of Perugia. This town is so beautiful that it's officially recognized as one of "The most beautiful villages of Italy" (I Borghi più belli d'Italia).

Passignano sul Trasimeno is a historic place with a rich past. It sits right by Lake Trasimeno, which is the fourth-largest lake in Italy. The town's location makes it a popular spot for visitors who enjoy beautiful scenery and outdoor activities.
Old Airplane Factory
Passignano was once home to a famous Italian airplane factory called SAI Ambrosini. This factory played an important role in making aircraft. Today, the factory buildings are no longer used for making planes. However, they still stand near the Passignano sul Trasimeno railway station and are now used as a community center.
Aircraft Testing
Airplanes made at the SAI Ambrosini factory were tested at Eleuteri airport. This airport was only a few kilometers away from the factory. During World War II, SAI Ambrosini often worked with another company called Aermacchi to build planes. Eleuteri airport was also used to test a special aircraft called the Ambrosini SS.4.
Racing Team Connection
Passignano sul Trasimeno is also connected to the world of car racing. Scuderia Coloni is a well-known racing team that used to compete in major races like Formula 1 and GP2 Series. Today, this team organizes its own racing series called Auto GP. Their headquarters are located right here in Passignano sul Trasimeno.
