Patrick Steven Turner, born on May 19, 1987, is a former American football player. He played as a wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL). The Miami Dolphins chose him in the 2009 NFL draft. He also played college football for the USC Trojans and was part of the New York Jets team.

Early Life and High School Football
Patrick grew up in Madison, Tennessee, and went to Goodpasture Christian School. He was a very talented wide receiver there. He won many All-American awards during his sophomore, junior, and senior years. In 2005, he played in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.
Patrick also played on his high school's basketball team until his second year. He was also on the track team for all four years of high school. Experts like ESPN's Tom Lemming ranked him as the number one wide receiver in the country. He was also ranked fifth among the top 100 high school football players in 2005.
College Football Career
Patrick Turner played college football for the University of Southern California (USC).
Freshman Year (2005)
As a freshman in 2005, Patrick was a backup wide receiver. He caught 12 passes for 170 yards and scored 2 touchdowns. He played in 12 games that season. He missed only one game due to an injury.
Sophomore Year (2006)
In his second year, Patrick became the Trojans' third main receiver. He played alongside Dwayne Jarrett and Steve Smith. Patrick stepped up when Jarrett and Smith were injured. For example, he caught 12 passes for 116 yards against the Washington team.
Junior Year (2007)
Before the 2007 season, many thought Patrick would be USC's top receiver. He was expected to follow in the footsteps of other great USC receivers. He made some very impressive plays during spring training. In 2007, Patrick finished second on the team in receiving yards with 569 yards. Only Fred Davis had more receiving yards.
Senior Year (2008)
After Fred Davis left for the NFL, Patrick was expected to become the main receiver for the Trojans in 2008. He was one of twelve USC players invited to the 2009 NFL Scouting Combine. This event helps professional teams evaluate college players.

Miami Dolphins (2009)
The Miami Dolphins chose Patrick in the third round of the 2009 NFL draft. He was the 87th player picked overall. He was released by the team after the 2010 preseason.
New York Jets (2010–2012)
On September 5, 2010, the New York Jets picked up Patrick. He was later released on September 7, 2010. However, he was re-signed to the team's practice squad on September 10, 2010. On September 25, 2010, Patrick was added to the Jets' main roster.
After a game against the Buffalo Bills, Patrick was released again on October 4, 2010. This was to make space for other players. He was then re-signed to the practice squad on October 6, 2010. The Jets brought Patrick back to the active roster on November 18, 2010. This happened because another receiver, Jerricho Cotchery, was injured.
Patrick was waived by the Jets on September 3, 2011. He was re-signed to the practice squad the next day. He was then signed to the active roster on September 14, 2011. Patrick was waived by the Jets again on September 11, 2012. He was re-signed on September 24, 2012. He was waived one last time on October 2, 2012.
