Steven Smith (born May 6, 1985) is a former American professional football player. He was a wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL). Before joining the NFL, he played college football for the University of Southern California (USC). He was recognized as an All-American player during his college years. The New York Giants picked him in the 2007 NFL draft. He also played for the Philadelphia Eagles, St. Louis Rams, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Early Life and High School Football
Steve Smith was born in Anchorage, Alaska. He grew up in California. He played football at Taft High School. There, he set amazing records for catches and total yards. He led his team to two championship games.
Steve also played high school basketball. He was teammates with Jordan Farmar, who later played in the NBA. In 2003, Steve played in a special high school football game. It was called the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.
College Football Star
Steve went to the University of Southern California (USC). He became one of the top wide receivers for the USC Trojans football team. In 2006, he was considered one of the best college football players.
He was named to the All-Pac-10 team. This means he was one of the best players in his college conference. He also earned First-team All-American honors. His teammates even voted him their Most Valuable Player (MVP) in 2006.
