Pattada is a small town in the Sardinia region of Italy. It's located in the Province of Sassari, about 150 kilometers (93 miles) north of Cagliari. Pattada is also about 50 kilometers (31 miles) southeast of the city of Sassari.

Pattada is known for its beautiful countryside and the traditional crafts made by its people. It's a place where old traditions are still very much alive.

What Pattada is Known For

Pattada is famous for a few special things. These include handmade knives, musical instruments, and delicious cheese.

Handmade Knives

Pattada is very well known for making traditional Sardinian knives. These knives are called resolzas. Many local artists have shops where they create these blades by hand.

The resolza is a type of folding pocket knife. Other knives made here have fixed blades and are used by shepherds. Most knives from Pattada have handles made from ram horn. This makes them unique and strong.

Musical Instruments

Some people in Pattada are skilled at making musical instruments. These craftspeople are called luthiers. They have become famous for the instruments they create, especially violins.

Delicious Cheese

Many people in Pattada work to produce Pecorino Sardo cheese. This is a special cheese made from sheep's milk. The land around Pattada is mostly pastures, which are perfect for raising sheep.

Farmers raise ewes (female sheep) for their milk. This milk is then taken to a local co-operative. Here, it is turned into the tasty Pecorino Sardo cheese.

Neighboring Towns

Pattada shares its borders with several other towns. These include Benetutti, Buddusò, Bultei, Nughedu San Nicolò, Nule, Oschiri, Osidda, and Ozieri.
