Patterk Netser is a Canadian Inuk politician. He has served as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) in Nunavut. He represented the area of Nanulik from 2003 to 2008. Later, he was elected again in 2017 to represent the new area of Aivilik. In 2020, he lost some of his government roles after sharing his strong opinions on social media.

Early Life and Public Service
Patterk Netser was born in Coral Harbour, Nunavut. Before he became an MLA, he was very involved in education. He worked with the Coral Harbour District Education Authority. He also served on the regional education board. This showed his dedication to helping young people learn.
First Term as MLA (2003-2008)
Netser was first elected to the Legislative Assembly of Nunavut in September 2003. This happened during a special election called a by-election. During this time, the Assembly discussed a new law. This law was about human rights. Netser shared his views on parts of this proposed law.
Ministerial Roles (2017-2020)
Netser was re-elected to the Nunavut Legislative Assembly in 2017. He then became a minister in the government. He was in charge of the Nunavut Housing Corporation. This group helps people find homes. He also oversaw the Nunavut Arctic College. This college provides education and training.
In October 2020, Netser made some posts on Facebook. These posts shared his strong opinions on certain topics. Soon after, the Premier of Nunavut, Joe Savikataaq, removed Netser from his ministerial roles. Nunavut has a special type of government called a consensus government. This means that members vote on who is in the Cabinet. On October 23, 2020, the members voted to formally remove Netser from the Cabinet. Most members voted for his removal.

Netser is connected to the federal Conservative Party of Canada. This is a political party at the national level in Canada. He supported Leslyn Lewis in the 2020 leadership election for the Conservative Party.
