Pau Cubarsí Paredes, born on January 22, 2007, is a talented Spanish professional footballer. He plays as a central defender for the famous Barcelona club. Pau Cubarsí's Early Life

Pau Cubarsí Paredes was born in Bescanó, Catalonia, Spain, on January 22, 2007. His parents are Gloria Paredes and Robert Cubarsí. He has an older sister named Irene. When he was 11 years old, in 2018, Pau joined Barcelona's famous youth academy, La Masia. This academy was about an hour and a half away from his home. Pau's first language is Catalan. During the 2024 Olympic Games, he mentioned that he mostly spoke Catalan. He had lived in Catalonia his whole life.

Cubarsí's Club Journey

Pau started his football journey at Girona. In 2018, he moved to Barcelona and joined their famous youth academy. He quickly showed his talent. He became one of the youngest Barcelona players to play in the UEFA Youth League. This is a big competition for young players. He played his first game in this league against Viktoria Plzeň.

Joining the First Team

In April 2023, Pau got to train with Barcelona's main team for the first time. The team's coach, Xavi, called him up. A few months later, on July 8, he signed his first professional contract. He was also part of the team's pre-season training for the 2023–24 season.

Making His Debut

Pau made his official debut for the first team on January 18, 2024. This was in a Copa del Rey match against Unionistas de Salamanca. He came into the game in the second half. His first time starting a game was in La Liga against Real Betis. This happened just one day before his 17th birthday!

On February 25, 2025, Pau scored his first goal for Barcelona. It was a header in a Copa del Rey semi-final against Atlético Madrid. The game ended in an exciting 4–4 draw. In May 2024, Pau was part of the preliminary squad for the UEFA Euro 2024 tournament. However, he was not included in the final team. Later, in July 2024, Pau was chosen for the Spain under-23 squad. This team competed in the 2024 Summer Olympics. Pau and his teammates achieved something amazing: they won the Olympic gold medal in men's football! On May 25, 2026, he was also named in Spain's squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
