The Paul Revere Capture Site is a special place in Lincoln, Massachusetts. It marks where Paul Revere was captured by British soldiers. This happened very early in the morning on April 19, 1775. Revere was on his famous "Midnight Ride." He was trying to warn people that British troops were coming. Today, a plaque marks this spot. It is located next to the historic Battle Road. This area is now part of the Minute Man National Historical Park.

What Happened at the Capture Site?
This spot is where Paul Revere, William Dawes, and Samuel Prescott met British soldiers. They were all trying to warn American colonists. The British soldiers stopped them. They managed to capture Paul Revere.
The Escape of Dawes and Prescott
William Dawes quickly turned his horse around. He rode away and escaped the British soldiers. Samuel Prescott also managed to get away. He rode through the roadblock. Prescott continued his ride to Concord. He successfully delivered the warning.
Revere's Release
Paul Revere was taken back to Lexington by the British. However, he was released shortly after. This capture happened during a very important time. It was just before the battles of Lexington and Concord. These battles started the American Revolutionary War.
