Pearl Peak is a tall mountain in the Ruby Mountains range. It stands at about 10,777 feet (3,285 meters) high. This peak is located in Elko County, Nevada, in the United States. It is part of the large Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest.

Pearl Peak is known for its interesting rocks. It also has special trees called bristlecone pines. These trees are some of the oldest living things on Earth!

Where is Pearl Peak Located?

Pearl Peak is found in the southern part of the Ruby Mountains. It's about 40 miles (64 km) south of a city called Elko. It's also about 50 miles (80 km) north of Eureka.

A short distance to the southeast of the peak is the Ruby Lake National Wildlife Refuge. This refuge is a protected area for many different animals and plants.

What is Pearl Peak Made Of?

The mountain is mostly made of two types of rock: dolomite and limestone. These rocks formed a very long time ago, during periods called the Ordovician and Devonian. You can also find smaller amounts of sandstone and quartzite here.

These rocks tell a story about how the Earth has changed over millions of years.
