Pearson is a city in Georgia, United States. It is located in Atkinson County. In 2020, about 1,821 people lived there. Pearson is also the main town, or "county seat," for Atkinson County.

A Look Back: Pearson's History

Pearson started in 1875. It was a train station along the Brunswick and Western Railroad. The community officially became a town in 1890. Later, in 1916, it was recognized as a city. Pearson was named after Benajah Pearson. He was a brave soldier who fought in the Second Seminole War.
