Where is Pedro Bay?
Pedro Bay is located in the Lake and Peninsula Borough. You can find it at the very top of Pedro Bay, which is on the northeast side of Iliamna Lake. This lake is one of the largest in Alaska.

Early People and Russian Traders
For a long time, the Dena'ina people lived in the area around Pedro Bay. They are a group of Athabascan people. In the early 1800s, they had conflicts with Russian fur traders. These conflicts were often about how they traded goods.

What is the Pedro Bay Corporation?
The Pedro Bay Corporation was started in 1973. This happened after a law called the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA) was passed. This law helped Alaska Native communities gain control over their land and resources. The Pedro Bay Corporation is one of many village corporations created by this act.
Who Does it Represent?
The corporation represents about 170 shareholders. These shareholders are people of Aleut, Eskimo, and Indian heritage from Pedro Bay and nearby areas. Their goal is to help Alaska Natives become financially independent.
What Does the Corporation Do?
The Pedro Bay Corporation manages about 92,100 acres of land. Another group, the Bristol Bay Native Corporation, owns the land beneath the surface.
The Pedro Bay Corporation does many things, including:
