Meet Pepe the King Prawn
Pepe the King Prawn is a very popular character from The Muppets. He is known for his quick wit and funny sayings. Pepe often adds a lot of humor to the Muppet movies and shows.
Pepe's Unique Personality
Pepe is from Spain, and his full name is Pepino Rodrigo Serrano Gonzales. He speaks with a strong Spanish accent and often ends his sentences by asking, "Okay?"
Pepe has a very lively personality. He can get a bit fiery, especially if someone calls him a "shrimp" instead of a "king prawn"! He also thinks he is very charming and likes to flirt.
Sometimes, Pepe tries to trick his friends to get what he wants. For example, he worked with Ms. Bitterman in It's a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie. He also teamed up with Rizzo to convince Gonzo to build a jacuzzi in Muppets from Space. But usually, Pepe's good side wins, and he ends up doing the right thing.
Why Pepe is So Popular
Pepe has become one of the most loved Muppet characters. He often provides lots of laughs in his major supporting roles. He is similar to Rizzo the Rat in how he brings comedy to the stories.
Pepe has appeared in most big Muppet productions since he was first introduced. He, along with Big Mean Carl and Bobo the Bear, are the only characters from Muppets Tonight who are still a big part of The Muppets today. Pepe is often in the main group of characters, while Bobo and Carl usually have smaller roles.
