Pero Antić (born July 29, 1982) is a famous Macedonian basketball player who is now a basketball leader. He used to play professionally and was known for his strong skills. Today, he is the president of the Basketball Federation of North Macedonia.
Antić was also the captain of the Macedonian national basketball team. He is very tall, standing at 6 feet 11 inches (2.11 meters). He mainly played as a power forward, but could also play as a center.

Pero Antić's Basketball Journey
Pero Antić played for many different teams during his career. He started playing professionally in 1999.
Early Career and Achievements
Antić played for teams like Rabotnički Skopje and AEK Athens. He also played for Crvena zvezda (also known as Red Star Belgrade). In 2006, he won the Serbia and Montenegro National Cup with Red Star Belgrade.
He was named the most valuable player (MVP) in the Bulgarian National Basketball League during the 2007–08 season. In that season, he scored about 23 points and grabbed 9 rebounds per game. He also helped Spartak St. Petersburg reach the EuroChallenge Final Four in 2011.
Playing for Olympiacos

After playing very well in the EuroBasket 2011 tournament, Antić joined Olympiacos Piraeus in Greece. This was a big step in his career.
With Olympiacos, he won the important EuroLeague title two times in a row, in 2012 and 2013. He also helped his team win the Greek League championship in 2012.
Time with the Atlanta Hawks

In 2013, Antić moved to the United States to play for the Atlanta Hawks in the NBA. This was a dream come true for many basketball players.
He scored his first points in an NBA game in November 2013. Later, he started games for the Hawks when their main center was injured. He even scored a career-high 16 points in one game.
Antić was chosen to play in the Rising Stars Challenge during the NBA All-Star weekend in 2014. This is a special game for new and young players. However, he couldn't play due to an ankle injury. In April 2014, he scored a new career-high of 18 points.
The Hawks made it to the playoffs that season. Antić started in his first playoff game and played well, helping his team win the first game against the Indiana Pacers.
Playing for Fenerbahçe
In 2015, Antić signed a contract with the Turkish team Fenerbahçe. In his first year there, he helped the team win the Turkish Cup.
Fenerbahçe also reached the final game of the 2016 Euroleague Final Four, but they lost in overtime. By the end of the season, Fenerbahçe also won the Turkish League championship.
Return to Crvena zvezda
In 2017, Antić returned to play for Crvena zvezda for the 2017–18 season. This was a return to one of his former teams.
Playing for His Country: Macedonia National Team
Antić was a very important player and captain for the senior men's Republic of Macedonia national team.
He played a big role in his team reaching the semi-finals of EuroBasket 2011 in Lithuania. He was one of the best rebounders in the tournament, grabbing many rebounds per game. He also scored a lot of points, helping his team succeed.
Antić was known for his strong defense and leadership. He helped Macedonia reach the top four teams in the EuroBasket. He also captained the team at EuroBasket 2013. After that tournament, he decided to retire from playing for the national team.

Pero Antić's Life Outside Basketball
Pero Antić was born in Skopje, which is now in North Macedonia. He is a big fan of the Belgrade basketball club Red Star, where he also played for several years.
He has several tattoos, including ones that represent his family and his favorite team, Crvena zvezda. Besides being a citizen of North Macedonia, he also has Bulgarian citizenship.
In 2011, after his great performance at the EuroBasket 2011, Antić received an honorary academic title from FON University in Skopje.
In July 2024, Antić was seen working as an assistant coach for the Phoenix Suns in the 2024 NBA Summer League. This was a chance for him to try out for a coaching position.
