Perstorp Municipality (Perstorps kommun) is a local government area, also known as a municipality, located in Skåne County in southern Sweden. The main town and administrative center, called the seat, is Perstorp.

About Perstorp Municipality
Perstorp Municipality is a part of Skåne County, which is a region in the southern part of Sweden. It is one of many municipalities that make up the country's local government system. The main town, Perstorp, is where most of the people live and where the local government offices are located.
History of Perstorp
The town of Perstorp became a special kind of market town, called a köping, in 1947. This meant it had certain rights and rules for trade. Later, in 1952, Perstorp joined with another area called Oderljunga as part of a big change to local government areas across Sweden.
Another change happened in 1971, but this time, Perstorp Municipality did not join with any new areas. However, the special köping status was removed, and it became a regular municipality like others in Sweden.
Perstorp Town and Local Business
The only major urban area or town in Perstorp Municipality is the town of Perstorp itself. In 2005, about 5,468 people lived there.
Perstorp is well-known because of a company called Perstorp AB. This company started in the municipality and is a big employer, with about 1,800 people working for them around the world. They make special chemicals and materials. They also have a part of their business called Perstorp Flooring, which makes laminate and plastic floor materials that you might find in homes and buildings.
