Peter Carey (novelist) facts for kids
Peter Carey (born 1943) is an Australian novelist who has won many awards including two Booker Prizes. He first won the Booker Prize in 1988 for his book, Oscar and Lucinda. He won again in 2001 for his book The True History of the Kelly Gang. Only one other author has won this award twice.
Oscar and Lucinda was made into a movie starring Ralph Fiennes. The True History of the Kelly Gang is the story of Australian bushranger, Ned Kelly, written in the style of Ned's famous Jerilderie Letter.
