Peter F. Secchia facts for kids
Peter Finley Secchia (born April 15, 1937 – died October 21, 2020) was an American businessman and a diplomat. A diplomat is someone who helps represent their country in other nations. He worked as the U.S. ambassador to Italy and San Marino from 1989 to 1993. An ambassador is the highest-ranking diplomat sent to another country. Secchia was a member of the Republican Party.
Early Life and Service
Peter Secchia was born in Englewood, New Jersey. He joined the United States Marine Corps in 1956. He served in the Marines until 1959.
Later Life and Passing
Secchia passed away on October 21, 2020. He was 83 years old. He died in Grand Rapids, Michigan. His death was caused by COVID-19.
