Phillip Armour (born December 9, 1976) is a former American football player. He played for the University of North Texas and the NFL's Indianapolis Colts.
Armour received a full football scholarship from the University of North Texas in January 1995. After playing for four years at UNT, he joined the Indianapolis Colts. He signed with them as an undrafted free agent after the 1999 NFL Draft. This means he wasn't chosen by a team during the draft but was later signed.
He was injured during his first training camp with the Colts. Because of this, he was placed on injured reserve for the entire 1999 season. This means he couldn't play that year due to injury. In 2000, Armour made the Colts' main roster. He was released by the Colts in April 2001. He officially retired from professional football in 2003.

Early Life and High School Football
Phillip Armour was born in Geneva, Illinois. He lived near Chicago until he was in second grade. Then, his mother moved him and his sister to Frisco, Texas. A year later, they moved to Denton, Texas. Armour went to Denton High School and graduated in May 1995.
Armour played football for Denton High School. He wore jersey number 66.
- Sophomore Year (1992): He played as a Defensive Tackle. He made 44 tackles and 3 sacks.
- Junior Year (1993): He played both Defensive Tackle and Offensive Center. He had 83 tackles and 10 sacks. He earned honors for his defensive play.
- Senior Year (1994): He played as an Inside Linebacker and Offensive Center. He made 110 tackles and 13 sacks. He also earned honors for his linebacker play.
Before choosing UNT, Armour visited five other top college football programs. These included North Carolina State and the University of Kansas.
College Football Career
Armour played college football for The University of North Texas. He wore jersey number 67.

- Freshman Year (1995): He started as a Defensive End. He had 14 tackles and 1 sack. He suffered a neck injury during the season. After his freshman year, he moved to play Offensive Center.
- Sophomore Year (1996): He started all 11 games as Offensive Center. He was named First-Team All-Big West Center.
- Junior Year (1997): He started all 11 games as Offensive Center again. He earned First-Team All-Big West Center honors.
- Senior Year (1998): He started all 11 games as Offensive Center for the third time. He was again named First-Team All-Big West Center. He was the first UNT player in 30 years to achieve this.
After his senior year, Armour played in two special post-season games. These games showcase top college players. He played in the 74th-Annual East-West Shrine Game and the 53rd-Annual Hooters Hula Bowl.
Even after his strong college career, Armour was not chosen in the 1999 NFL draft. However, the Indianapolis Colts signed him as an Undrafted Free Agent on May 21, 1999.
NFL Career Highlights
Armour joined the Indianapolis Colts and wore jersey number 54. The Colts were part of the AFC East Division at that time.
- 1999 Season (Rookie Year): Armour was placed on Injured Reserve in July. He suffered a foot injury during training camp. This meant he missed his entire rookie season.
- 2000 Season (Second Year): Armour made the Colts' 53-man active roster. He was a backup Offensive Center to Jeff Saturday. He was available for all 16 regular season games and one playoff game. He played in three games during the 2000 NFL season:

As of 2016, Phillip Armour lives in Leander, Texas. He is married to Hailey R. Armour. They have two sons, Blaise M. Armour (born 2002) and Major S. Armour (born 2015). Since 2002, he has worked as a Sales Executive for Avant Technology.
