Pickering is a city in Nodaway County, Missouri, United States. The population was 160 at the 2010 census.

History

Pickering was laid out in 1871. The community was named for Pickering Clark, a railroad man. A post office called Pickering has been in operation since 1871.

As of the census of 2010, there were 160 people, 70 households, and 44 families living in the town. The population density was 842.1 inhabitants per square mile (325.1/km2). There were 92 housing units at an average density of 484.2 per square mile (187.0/km2). The racial makeup of the town was 100.0% White.

There were 70 households, of which 30.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 44.3% were married couples living together, 10.0% had a female householder with no husband present, 8.6% had a male householder with no wife present, and 37.1% were non-families. 31.4% of all households were made up of individuals, and 18.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
