Pine Bluffs is a small town in eastern Wyoming, United States. It is located in Laramie County, right on the border with Nebraska. This town is also part of the larger Cheyenne, Wyoming area. In 2010, about 1,129 people lived here. The town was first called Rock Ranch. However, railroad workers changed its name to Pine Bluffs because of the pine trees growing on the nearby hills, which are called bluffs.

History of Pine Bluffs
Pine Bluffs has an interesting past. The town was originally known as Rock Ranch. Its name was later changed by railroad officials. They chose "Pine Bluffs" because of the many pine trees on the hills nearby.
Early Developments
The first gas station in Pine Bluffs was built by a politician named William Henry Harrison and A. E. Carlstrum. Years later, in 1956, William Henry Harrison III was allowed to set up a community television system for the town. This helped people in Pine Bluffs watch TV shows.
Recent Events
In July 2016, Pine Bluffs faced a very strong hailstorm. This storm caused a lot of damage around the town. The Wyoming National Guard even came to help with the cleanup and repairs.
Geography and Climate
Pine Bluffs is located in eastern Laramie County. The eastern edge of the town is right on the state line with Nebraska. The town covers an area of about 3.22 square miles (8.35 square kilometers). All of this area is land, with no large bodies of water.

Pine Bluffs has a semi-arid climate. This means it is usually dry, but not as dry as a desert. It gets some rain and snow, but not a lot. The weather can change quite a bit between seasons.
