Pine Grove is a town in Wetzel County, West Virginia, United States. In 2020, the town had a population of 363 people. The community got its name from a group of pine trees that grew near where the town was first built.
The town is located about one mile north of a large energy plant. This plant, called the Hastings Extraction Station, takes natural gas and separates it into different parts, like butane. This plant is special because it has traffic lights about three-quarters of a mile away in both directions. These lights can stop traffic if there's an emergency at the plant. Pine Grove is also home to Valley High School.
