Pinewood is a community in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. It is known as a census-designated place (CDP). This means it is an area defined by the government for counting people. Pinewood is part of the larger Miami metropolitan area in South Florida. In 2020, about 17,246 people lived there.

History of Pinewood
Pinewood was once a part of the City of Miami. It became part of the city in 1925. However, during the Great Depression, Miami decided to give up control of Pinewood. After that, Pinewood became an area of Miami-Dade County that is not officially part of a city.
Where is Pinewood Located?
Pinewood is located about 8 miles (13 km) north of downtown Miami. It shares borders with several other places:
- To the north, it borders the city of North Miami.
- To the east, it borders Miami Shores and other neighborhoods.
- To the south and southwest, it borders West Little River.
- To the northwest, it borders Westview.
A major road, U.S. Route 441 (also called NW 7th Avenue), forms most of Pinewood's eastern border.

The United States Census Bureau says that Pinewood covers a total area of about 1.9 square miles (4.9 square kilometers). Most of this area, about 1.8 square miles (4.7 square kilometers), is land. The remaining 0.1 square miles (0.26 square kilometers), or about 7.30%, is water.
