Where is Pinnacle?
Pinnacle is found in the beautiful Pioneer Valley. It's about 64 kilometers (39 miles) west of a bigger city called Mackay. A great spot for water sports and fishing, Teemburra Dam, is also nearby.

How Pinnacle Got Its School
Back in 1907, people in Pinnacle wanted a school closer to home. The only school available was in Septimus. It was hard for kids to get there, especially when the weather was bad. So, a group of people asked for a new school.
Pinnacle Provisional School first opened its doors on June 4, 1908. Later that same year, it became Pinnacle State School. Another school, Beatrice Creek State School, opened in 1936 but closed in 1971.

Pinnacle State School is a government primary school. It teaches students from Prep to Year 6. The school is located on Pinnacle Street (21°08′59″S 148°42′46″E / 21.1498°S 148.7129°E). In 2023, 14 students were enrolled at the school.
There are no high schools directly in Pinnacle. The closest government high school is Mirani State High School. It's located in Mirani, which is to the east of Pinnacle.
