Piqua's Past: A Brief History
Piqua began in 1882. It grew because railroads were built through the area. It is located where two important railroads met: the Missouri Pacific Railroad and the Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad. The community was named after a city called Piqua, Ohio. The first post office in Piqua opened in March 1882.
