Pizza Nova is a popular Canadian restaurant chain. They are famous for their delicious pizza! The company started in Scarborough, Ontario, which is part of Toronto. An Italian immigrant family opened the first Pizza Nova on May 12, 1963. Today, you can find over 150 Pizza Nova restaurants across Canada.
There is also a Pizza Nova in Varadero, Cuba. It uses older signs from the Canadian company.

The Story of Pizza Nova
How Pizza Nova Started
Pizza Nova was founded by a young family from Italy. The Primucci brothers — Sam, Mike, Vince, and Joe — came from a town called Palazzo San Gervasio in Basilicata, Italy. They opened their very first pizza place on May 12, 1963. It was located in Scarborough, Ontario, near Lawrence Avenue and Kennedy Road.
Growing the Business with Franchises
After many years of making tasty pizzas, the Primucci family decided to grow their business. In 1969, they opened their first franchised store. This meant other people could open a Pizza Nova restaurant using the company's name and recipes. This helped Pizza Nova become much bigger!
Pizza Nova and the Blue Jays
In 2013, Pizza Nova celebrated its 50th birthday! To mark this special occasion, they announced an exciting partnership. Starting in January 2014, Pizza Nova became the official pizza supplier for the Toronto Blue Jays. This meant fans could enjoy Pizza Nova at the Rogers Centre during baseball games. This partnership lasted for three years.
Pizza Nova on TV
In 2013, Pizza Nova was featured on a TV show called Undercover Boss. The show lets a company's leader work secretly in different parts of their business. Domenic Primucci, the current President, appeared on the "Pizza Nova" episode. He learned a lot about how his company works from the ground up!
The Famous Pizza Nova Jingle
In 1985, a special advertisement was created for Pizza Nova. It featured a catchy jingle that helped people remember the phone number. The jingle was created by Syd Kessler and sung by Canadian musician Zappacosta. Even today, you can still hear parts of this famous jingle on the radio and TV in Ontario. The current company President, Domenic Primucci, now does the voiceover for the jingle.
