Plagido's Winery is a special place in Hammonton, New Jersey. It's a winery, which means they make wine there. Before it was a winery, it was a family farm that grew fruits and vegetables for a very long time, starting in the late 1800s!
The family first planted grapevines in 1999. Then, in 2007, Plagido's Winery opened its doors to visitors. The winery was first called "Placido's Winery." But in 2008, they changed the name to "Plagido's" because another winery in Tuscany, Italy, had a very similar name.
Plagido's Winery grows grapes on 14 acres of land. That's about the size of 10 football fields! Each year, they make about 4,200 cases of wine. The winery is named after the owner's great-grandfather. He came from Italy in the late 1800s and started the family farm in Hammonton.
