Geography of Plainfield
Plainfield village is located in the western part of the town. It sits along New Hampshire Route 12A. This road goes north about 7 miles (11 km) to Interstate 89 in West Lebanon. It also goes south about 5 miles (8 km) to the Cornish–Windsor Covered Bridge over the Connecticut River.
Natural Features
The village is surrounded by natural streams. Clay Brook forms its western border. To the east, you'll find Blow-me-down Brook. This brook flows southwest and joins the Connecticut River. The southern end of the village is where these two brooks meet. The northern end is at Stage Road and Route 12A.
