Karl Pontus Norgren (born April 22, 1968) is a talented Swedish musician. He is best known as the lead guitarist for the popular power metal band HammerFall. Before joining HammerFall, he also played guitar for another well-known band called The Poodles. Besides playing guitar, Pontus can also play bass, keyboards, and sing. He is also a skilled songwriter.

About Pontus Norgren
Pontus Norgren became the guitarist for HammerFall after their previous guitarist, Stefan Elmgren, decided to leave. Stefan wanted to focus on his career as a pilot.
HammerFall's singer, Joacim Cans, contacted Pontus. He asked if Pontus knew any good guitarists. Pontus was a big fan of HammerFall's music. He also wanted to play a heavier style of music than he did with The Poodles. So, Pontus suggested himself for the role. HammerFall was very happy to welcome him to the band.
Early Career and Other Bands
Before joining HammerFall, Pontus played with several other bands. These included Great King Rat, Talisman, Humanimal, The Ring, and Zan Clan.
He also worked as a live sound engineer for famous bands. He helped with the sound for Thin Lizzy during their 2000 tour. He also worked with Europe and Yngwie J. Malmsteen.
More recently, Pontus joined a group called The German Panzer. He plays as one of their second guitarists.
