Post Gwyn is a mountain peak located in north-east Wales. It is like a smaller, connected peak of the larger Cadair Berwyn mountain. This peak marks the western edge of the main Berwyn range, which is a group of mountains. The Berwyn range also includes other areas like the Hirnantau to the west, where a peak called Cyrniau Nod stands tall.
About Post Gwyn
Post Gwyn is 665 meters (about 2,182 feet) high. It is part of the Berwyn range, which stretches across parts of Denbighshire and Powys in Wales. This mountain is known as a "Hewitt" and a "Nuttall," which are special lists of mountains in the UK based on their height.
The Summit of Post Gwyn
The very top of Post Gwyn is the highest point on the western side of Cadair Berwyn's long southern ridges. This area is covered by a deep peat bog and lots of heather plants. Because of the soft ground and thick plants, there aren't many clear paths here. This means not many people visit the summit of Post Gwyn.
What You'll Find at the Top
At the summit, you will find a small pile of stones. This pile is called a cairn and it marks the highest point. From the top, you can see great views of an area called Cwm Rhiwarth. The ridge continues south towards another peak called Glan-hafon, which is 608 meters (about 1,995 feet) high.
