What Are Awards?

Awards are a way to celebrate achievements. They recognize people who have worked hard, shown bravery, or made a big difference. These honors can be given for many different reasons. They might be for success in sports, school, art, or even for helping others.

Why Do People Get Awards?

Awards can be given by anyone, from a single person to a large organization. For example, Governments and military groups often give awards. They honor citizens or soldiers who have helped their country a lot. This special recognition can happen while the person is alive. It can also be given after they have passed away. When an award is given after someone has died, it's called a posthumous award. In the United States, if a military member gets a posthumous award, their family usually receives it.
