Pramod Pandurang Sawant (born April 24, 1973) is an Indian politician. He is also an Ayurveda medical practitioner. Since March 2019, he has been the 11th Chief Minister of Goa.
As Chief Minister, he leads the government of the Indian state of Goa. He represents the Sanquelim area in the Goa Legislative Assembly. He has been a member of the Assembly since 2012, representing the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Who is Pramod Sawant?
Pramod Sawant was born on April 24, 1973, in Mapusa, Goa. His parents are Panduronga Govind Sawant and Padminim P. Sawant. He studied Ayurveda, which is a traditional Indian system of medicine.
He earned a degree in Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery. He got this degree from Ganga Education Society's Ayurvedic Medical College in Kolhapur. Later, he completed a postgraduate degree. This was a Master of Social Work from Tilak Maharashtra University in Pune.
His Journey in Politics
Pramod Sawant began his political journey in 2008. He first ran for election in the Pale area. He was a candidate for the Bharatiya Janata Party. However, he did not win that election. He lost to Pratap Prabhakar Gauns.
Winning Elections
In 2012, he ran for the Goa Legislative Assembly election. This time, he ran in the Sanquelim area. He won this election with a large number of votes. He defeated Pratap Prabhakar Gauns again.
For a short time, he also worked as a spokesperson. He spoke for the Goa branch of the Bharatiya Janata Party. In 2017, he was re-elected to the Goa Legislative Assembly. He won the election in the same Sanquelim area.
Becoming Speaker
On March 22, 2017, Pramod Sawant was chosen for an important role. He became the Speaker of the Goa Legislative Assembly. The Speaker is like a referee in the assembly. They make sure meetings run smoothly.
Becoming Chief Minister
After Manohar Parrikar, the previous Chief Minister, passed away, the position became empty. The Legislative Assembly then chose Pramod Sawant. He was sworn in as the 13th Chief Minister of Goa. This happened on March 19, 2019.
His Family Life
Pramod Sawant married Sulakshana on May 28, 2005. Sulakshana is a teacher. She teaches chemistry at a school in Bicholim. She is also involved in politics. She is a leader in the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Currently, Sulakshana is the President of the women's wing of the BJP in Goa. Pramod and Sulakshana have one daughter. Her name is Parthivi, and she was born in 2006.
