Pran Krishan Sikand (born February 12, 1920 – died July 12, 2013) was a famous Indian actor. Most people knew him simply as Pran. He was well-known for playing the "bad guy" or villain in many Bollywood films. Some of his most famous movies include Madhumati, Johny Mera Naam, Zanjeer, and Duniya. In the year 2000, Stardust Magazine even called him the "Villain of the Millennium"!

Pran was born on February 12, 1920. His birthplace was Ballimaran, in Kotgarh Old Delhi, India. He went to school at Raza High School.
About Pran's Life
Pran was married to Shukla Sikand. They got married in 1945 and stayed together until he passed away in 2013. They had three children.
Pran sometimes found it hard to read scripts written in Hindi. So, he would ask the writers to prepare all his scripts in Urdu instead. In 1998, Pran had a heart attack and was admitted to a hospital for the first time.
His Final Years
Pran died on July 12, 2013, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. He was 93 years old. He passed away due to pneumonia.
Awards and Recognition
Pran received many important awards for his acting. In 2000, Stardust magazine honored him as the 'Villain of the Millennium'.
The Government of India also recognized his great work. They gave him the Padma Bhushan award in 2001. Later, in 2013, he received the highest honor in Indian cinema, the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. In 2010, CNN listed him as one of the 'Top 25 Asian actors of all time'.
