Pugwall is an Australian TV show for kids. It first aired in 1989 on the Nine Network. The show is based on books by Margaret Clark.
It's all about a boy named Peter Unwin George Wall, whose nickname is "PUGWALL." He and his friends decide to start a band. The second season of the show was called Pugwall's Summer.

What the Show Is About
Pugwall gets an electric guitar for his 13th birthday. He and his friends, Bazza, Orfo, and Stringbean, decide to form a band. They need a singer for their new band.
Pugwall meets a girl named Jenny in the hospital after a bike accident. They become friends, and he finds out she can sing. Jenny agrees to join the band, and they name themselves The Orange Organics.
Each episode shows Pugwall's daily life with his family. It also follows the band as they try to get a recording contract with a record company.

Main Characters
Pugwall
Pugwall (Jason Torrens) is a regular teenage boy. He dreams of becoming a rock star and earning lots of money. When he gets an electric guitar for his 13th birthday, he thinks his dream is coming true. But he soon finds out his parents didn't get him an amplifier! He forms a rock band with his friends and works to earn money.
Jenny Fleet
Jenny (Rebecca Blomberg) meets Pugwall in the hospital. This happens after he has a bike accident in the second episode. Jenny is a bit shy. She joins the band as their lead singer.
Bazza
Bazza (Troy Beckwith) is the keyboard player in The Orange Organics. His real name is Jeremy James Bazzlington. He has a younger brother named Jimmy. Bazza's dad, Tony, is often away on business trips.
Orfo
Orfo (Jay McCormack) is the band's drummer. He is also Pugwall's best friend. His real name is Yuri Orfonsinski. His family is of Russian background. The band often practices in his garage. This sometimes annoys his neighbor, Mrs. Walker. Orfo's mom, Anatasia, often cooks a lot of food for the band.
Stringbean
Stringbean (Ricky Fleming) plays the bass guitar for the band. He got his nickname because he is very tall and thin. His parents run a farm, and Stringbean helps there every morning. His real name is never fully said on the show. He is shown to eat a lot but stays thin.
Hughesy
Hughesy (Gareth Morely) helps the band with their sound. He is in charge of the recording equipment. He joins the show starting from the second season.
Margaret "Supes" Wall
Supes (Louise Hall) is Pugwall's mother. Pugwall calls her Supes because she cleans the house very quickly. She moves around like Superman!
Frank "Herohead" Wall
Herohead (Ken James) is Pugwall's father. He works for a real estate company. He usually doesn't approve of Pugwall's dream of being a rock star. He would rather Pugwall become a doctor or a lawyer.
Marion "Marmaloid" Wall
Marion (Emma Snow) is Pugwall's younger sister. She can be a bit of a brat and often bothers Pugwall. She always asks her brother to let her join the band. He keeps telling her no.
Marmaloid loves Caramello Koalas, which are a type of chocolate. She sometimes takes these chocolates as payment. This is so she won't tell her parents what Pugwall is doing. She also loves Garfield and has many toys and posters of him.
Marion can play the guitar well. She even plays for Pugwall on one song when he hurts his wrist. She also has her own band called The Marmalodians. They even featured on The Orange Organics' album with a song called "The Marmaloid Rap."
Con Tarcopolis and Wazza
Con (Peter Tzefrios) and Wazza (Anthony Engelman) are Pugwall's main rivals. They often try to make Pugwall's life difficult. But their plans usually don't work out. Con is seen as the leader and the smart one. Wazza is his sidekick.
Daniella Valentina
Daniella (Marcella Toro) is another rival of Pugwall's. She always wants to sing with the band. She works at a fish and chip shop. She sometimes offers free food to band members to get what she wants.
Aunt Annabelle
Aunt Annabelle (Elspeth Ballantyne) is Herohead's aunt. She seems a bit unusual. She lets the band use her recording studio to make their album. She also helps them find a record company to release their music.
Uncle Harry
Uncle Harry (Maurie Fields) is Herohead's uncle. He often shows up when he hears Annabelle is in town. He tends to visit the family without warning. He often interrupts their meals. If there's hard work like washing dishes, he makes excuses to leave. But he always changes his mind if dessert is mentioned!
Dr Pongerton
Dr Pongerton (Frank Bren) is the principal of Greythorn High. He often talks to Pugwall about his actions. Sometimes, he even praises Pugwall.
Bashem
Bashem (Roy Edmunds) is Pugwall's strict teacher. He will not hesitate to give punishments. In one episode, Pugwall helps him when he gets sick during a race. Pugwall gives up winning to help his teacher.
Summerbum
Summerbum (Jennifer Jarman-Walker) is another one of Pugwall's teachers.
Music from the Show
Soundtracks were released for both seasons of Pugwall. They featured all the music heard in the show. These were available on vinyl records and cassette tapes. The first soundtrack was nominated for an ARIA Award for Best Children's Album in 1990.
