Quintin Lamon Demps (born June 29, 1985) is an American college football coach and former professional safety. He is currently the head football coach for Judson University. He started this coaching role in 2023. Before becoming a coach, Demps played college football at Texas-El Paso. The Philadelphia Eagles picked him in the fourth round of the 2008 NFL draft. Demps also played for several other teams, including the Hartford Colonials, Houston Texans, Kansas City Chiefs, New York Giants, and Chicago Bears.

Early Life and High School Football
Quintin Demps was born in San Antonio, Texas. He went to Theodore Roosevelt High School in San Antonio. There, he was a talented student and athlete. He earned "letterman" honors in both football and track. This means he was a key player on his school's teams.
In his junior year, Demps helped his football team win the District Title. He was chosen as a second-team All-District player. As a senior, he was named an All-District 26-5A selection. He was also an All-Greater San Antonio selection and received an All-State Honorable Mention. Demps finished high school in 2003.
College Football Career
Demps played college football at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). He was a standout player there. In 2007, his senior year, he was named first-team All-Conference USA. This was a big honor for his performance.
During that year, he had two amazing plays where he returned intercepted passes for over 100 yards each. Demps holds the second-highest record in UTEP history with a total of 17 interceptions during his college career.
Professional Football Journey
Joining the Philadelphia Eagles
The Philadelphia Eagles chose Quintin Demps in the fourth round of the 2008 NFL draft. He was the 117th player picked overall. He signed a four-year contract with the team in May 2008.
In his first year (2008), Demps became a great kick returner for the Eagles. He ranked fourth in the NFL for kick return yards. He averaged 25.3 yards per return. He scored his first professional touchdown in Week 13 against the Baltimore Ravens. This was a spectacular 100-yard kickoff return touchdown. As a rookie, Demps also made 18 tackles and one sack.
For the 2009 season, many expected Demps to be the starting free safety for the Eagles. However, another player, Macho Harris, won the starting job instead. The Eagles released Demps on September 4, 2010.
Playing for Other Teams
After leaving the Eagles, Demps joined the Hartford Colonials in the United Football League in November 2010.
Later that year, on December 7, 2010, the Houston Texans signed Demps. He was cut from the team in September 2011 but re-signed in October 2011. This happened after another player, Danieal Manning, got injured. Demps signed another multi-year contract with the Texans in April 2012.
In May 2013, Demps signed with the Kansas City Chiefs. The next year, on March 16, 2014, he joined the New York Giants. During his year with the Giants, Demps intercepted four passes.
Return to Houston and Chicago
On August 19, 2015, Demps signed a one-year contract to return to the Houston Texans. He re-signed with them for another year in April 2016.
His final NFL team was the Chicago Bears. He signed a three-year contract with them on March 10, 2017. However, his season ended early. On September 29, 2017, Demps was placed on injured reserve after breaking his forearm in Week 3. The Bears released him on February 26, 2018.
Over his NFL career, Quintin Demps played in 110 regular season games. He made 312 total tackles and had 18 interceptions. He also scored one touchdown.
Coaching Career
After his playing career, Quintin Demps became a football coach. He started as the safeties coach at Judson University in Elgin, Illinois in 2022.
Before that, in 2021, he was part of the coaching staff at Trinity International University in Deerfield, Illinois. He also coached at Grayslake Central High School in Grayslake, Illinois.
On January 24, 2023, Demps was named the head football coach at Judson University. As a head coach, his team's overall record is 1 win and 16 losses.
