Professional Football Career
Quinton Dunbar wasn't chosen in the 2015 NFL draft, but he still got a chance to play professionally.
Joining the Washington Redskins
On May 11, 2015, Dunbar signed a three-year contract with the Washington Redskins. He started training camp as a backup wide receiver. However, the Redskins coaches saw his talent for blocking on special teams. They decided to switch his position to cornerback in August 2015. This move also helped him make the team, as the Redskins needed more players in their defensive backfield. He changed his jersey number from 17 to 47.
Dunbar was initially waived (released) by the team. But he was quickly signed to their practice squad the next day. On September 29, the Redskins added him to their main roster. He became the fifth cornerback on the team's depth chart.
Rookie Season (2015)
Quinton Dunbar made his first professional game appearance on October 4, 2015. This was during the Redskins' 23–20 win against the Philadelphia Eagles. In November, he moved up to become the third cornerback on the team. This happened after other players were injured or moved to different positions.

He also made his first career sack on Panthers' quarterback Cam Newton in Week 15. He ended the 2016 season with 26 tackles, five pass deflections, one interception, and one sack.
In 2017, Dunbar kept his role as a key cornerback. He had a season-high eight tackles in a game against the San Francisco 49ers. He also made his third career interception against the Philadelphia Eagles. He finished the 2017 season with 35 tackles and eight passes defended.
In 2018, the Redskins signed Dunbar to a new three-year contract. He became a starting cornerback for the team. He also changed his jersey number to 23. Moving to Other Teams
