Río Bueno is a city and a special type of local government area called a commune in southern Chile. It's found in the Los Ríos Region, specifically in Ranco Province. The city gets its name from the Bueno River, which flows right through it. Many people enjoy fishing in the Bueno River.

People of Río Bueno
According to a census taken in 2002, Río Bueno covers an area of about 2,211.7 square kilometers (854 square miles). At that time, it had 32,627 people living there.
- Out of these, 16,418 were men and 16,209 were women.
- About 15,054 people (46.1%) lived in the city areas.
- The other 17,573 people (53.9%) lived in the countryside.
How Río Bueno is Governed
Río Bueno is a commune, which is a local administrative area in Chile. It is managed by a group called the municipal council. This council is led by an alcalde, who is like a mayor. The alcalde is chosen directly by the people every four years.
From 2008 to 2012, the alcalde of Río Bueno was Luis Reyes Alvarez. He belonged to a political party called the Independent Democratic Union (UDI).
