Rafael Farina, whose real name was Rafael Antonio Salazar Motos, was a famous Spanish singer. He was born on June 2, 1923. He was known for singing two special kinds of Spanish music: Copla and Flamenco. His granddaughter, Tamara, is also a well-known pop singer.

Rafael Farina's Life
Rafael Farina was born in a town called Martinamor. His family was Romani. His father, Antonio Salazar Motos, bought and sold cattle. His mother was Jesusa Motos.
Rafael started singing when he was only six years old. He would sing in the bars of Barrio Chino in Salamanca. His older brother, Rafael Salazar Motos, who was also a singer, would go with him.
Early Career and Tours
In 1949, Rafael Farina became more famous. He took part in a special event to honor another singer, Juanito Mojama. Before this, he had performed at a place called El Colmao.
Later, he joined a group led by the famous singer Concha Piquer. This allowed him to travel and perform all over Spain and even in America. In 1952, he was part of a show called "La copla andaluza" at the Pavón Theater in Madrid.
In 1956, Rafael Farina started his very own show. In 1968, he worked with another famous Spanish artist, Lola Flores, in a show called Arte Español.

Rafael Farina passed away in Madrid on November 21, 1995. He was 72 years old. He had a heart attack after having heart surgery. He is buried in the cemetery in his hometown, Salamanca.
