Discovering Rainbow Land
The story begins with a young girl named Wisp. She arrives in a dull, gray land. Her mission is to bring color back to this world. Wisp meets a tiny sprite named Twink and a talking horse named Starlite. She also finds a mysterious baby. This baby turns out to be very important for her mission.
With her new friends, Wisp finds the amazing Color Belt. She also rescues seven special children called the Color Kids. They were trapped by the King of Shadows. Wisp uses the Color Belt to defeat the King of Shadows. This frees the sprites and brings bright colors to the land. The world is then called Rainbow Land. Wisp is renamed Rainbow Brite. She becomes the leader of the Color Kids. Together, they are in charge of all the colors in the universe.
The Color Kids' Mission
The Color Kids spread color everywhere from the Color Console. This is located inside the Color Castle. Each Color Kid is in charge of their own color. They have a personal sprite and many other sprites. These sprites dig up Color Crystals from the Color Caves. These crystals are turned into Star Sprinkles. Star Sprinkles are magic dust that makes things bright and colorful.
Rainbow Brite and the Color Kids work hard. But their mission is often made difficult by villains. The main villains are Murky Dismal and his clumsy helper, Lurky. Sometimes, a boy from Earth named Brian helps Rainbow Brite.
The Star Stealer Movie
In the movie Rainbow Brite and the Star Stealer, the story expands. It includes a diamond planet called Spectra. All the light in the universe passes through Spectra. But a greedy villain, the Dark Princess, wants to steal Spectra. This makes Earth fall into darkness. Rainbow Brite and Starlite team up with Krys. He is a boy warrior from Spectra. They must defeat the darkness and save Spectra, Earth, and the universe.
