Ramon Salomon Miller is a talented sprinter from the Bahamas. He was born in Nassau, Bahamas, on February 17, 1987. Ramon is famous for winning medals in big international track and field events. In 2020, he was honored by being added to the Hall of Fame at Dickinson State University, where he used to compete.

Early Success and Olympic Medals

Ramon Miller has achieved a lot in his running career. He was part of the Bahamian team that won a silver medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. This was for the men's 4 × 400 meter relay race. In this event, four runners each run 400 meters.

College Achievements

Before his Olympic success, Ramon was a star athlete at Dickinson State University. During his four years there, he won nine national championships in track and field. These championships were organized by the NAIA. In his final NAIA national meet, he was named the most outstanding performer. He won the 400-meter dash and helped his relay teams win titles too.

More International Medals

Ramon continued to win medals on the world stage. In 2010, he earned a bronze medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi, India. The next year, he won another bronze medal at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico.

His biggest achievement came at the 2012 London Olympics. Ramon and his Bahamian 4 × 400 meter relay team won a gold medal! They beat the strong team from the USA and set a new national record for the Bahamas. Ramon ran the final part of the race, known as the anchor leg, to secure the gold.

Life After the Olympics

Joining the Police Force

In 2020, Ramon Miller started a new chapter in his life. He became a member of the Royal Bahamas Police Force. This shows his dedication to serving his country in a different way.

Home and Utilities

After his Olympic win, Ramon was given land by the government to build a home. However, he faced challenges getting his new home connected to water and electricity. This was a difficult time for him. Luckily, in 2023, his home was finally connected to these important services. He shared how happy he was, saying, "I feel like I’m part of the country now."
