Rasheed Naz (born September 9, 1948 – died January 17, 2022) was a famous actor from Pakistan. He worked in many films and TV shows. He started his acting journey on television in 1971. He acted in plays in Pashto, Hindko, and Urdu languages.
Life and Career
Rasheed Naz was born in Peshawar, Pakistan, on September 9, 1948. Peshawar is a city in a region now called Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He began his acting career on TV in 1971. His first TV show was a Pashto play. Rasheed Naz acted in many TV shows in Pashto, Hindko, and Urdu languages. His first Urdu play was called Aik Tha Gaoon in 1973. A very popular play he acted in was Namoos. He also worked in Pakistan's first private TV play, Dasht. This show was shown on the N T M TV channel.
In 1988, he acted in his first Pashto film, Zama Jang. This title means "Meri Jang" in Urdu. His first Urdu film was Dakait, directed by Syed Noor. He also appeared in Shoaib Mansoor's film Khuda Ke Liye in 2007. Rasheed Naz was also in a music video for Shoaib Mansoor's song "Ishq Mohabbat Apna Pan" with Iman Ali. In 2015, he acted in the Bollywood film Baby. In this movie, he worked alongside actors like Akshay Kumar and Anupam Kher.
Rasheed Naz had a very long acting career, lasting over forty years. His son, Hasan Noman, is also an actor. Hasan Noman even acted with his father in the film Baby.
Awards and Recognition
Rasheed Naz received the Pride of Performance Award from the Government of Pakistan. This award recognized his great work as a television and film actor. He received it for his services to the arts.
Death
Rasheed Naz passed away in Islamabad, Pakistan, on January 17, 2022. He was 73 years old. He had been unwell for some time. His body was taken to Peshawar for his funeral. He was buried there.
