Making the Movie
The idea for Ratatouille first came from Jan Pinkava in 2001. Later, in 2005, Brad Bird took over as the director. To make the movie feel real, Brad Bird and his team visited France. They wanted to get ideas for the look and feel of Paris.
The filmmakers also talked to real chefs. They got advice from chefs in France and the United States. This helped them make the food and cooking scenes look very authentic.
