He listened to many different kinds of music. Some of his favorite artists included Jimi Hendrix, Prince, and Al Green. He also liked hip-hop artists like Tupac Shakur and the Notorious B.I.G..
Music career
Starting as Tinashé (2009–2014)
In 2010, Tinashe Fazakerley released an album called Saved. He used the stage name Tinashé for this album. Before the album, he had also released two smaller music collections called EPs and three singles. However, his music did not become very popular at that time.
After this, he decided to take a break from singing. He started working as a songwriter and producer instead. He teamed up with producer Mark Crew. Together, they wrote songs for other artists, including the blues singer Rag'n'Bone Man. Tinashe also wrote songs for the Swiss version of the TV show The Voice.
Becoming Rationale (2015–present)

It quickly reached number 2 on the Spotify Global Viral Chart. It also got over 1.3 million listens on SoundCloud. Rationale was one of the first artists to sign with a new record label. This label, called Best Laid Plans, was started by Dan Smith from the band Bastille. Rationale's first album, simply called Rationale, came out on October 6, 2017. It was released with Warner Music UK.
