Reaville is a small community in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. It sits right on the edge of two townships: East Amwell and Raritan. Long ago, in the 1830s, this place was called Greenville. It got its current name, Reaville, in 1850, named after Runkle Rea, who was the first postmaster there.

A Look Back in Time
Early Days
In the 1700s, Reaville was an important stop for stagecoaches traveling along the Old York Road. Imagine horse-drawn carriages stopping here for a break! There was also a school in Reaville, helping kids learn. By 1881, the town was very quiet, with only one business left: a shop that made harnesses for horses.

The Reaville Historic District is a special area that protects old buildings and the history of the community. It covers about 159 acres and includes parts of Old York, Amwell, Barley Sheaf, Kuhl, and Manners roads. This district was added to the National Register of Historic Places on May 2, 2002. This means it's recognized for its important architecture, its role in local business, and how the community grew. There are 32 buildings in the district that help tell its story.
Important Buildings
- Reaville Church: This church was first built in 1839 and later updated in 1883. It used to be called the First English Presbyterian Church. The church shows off two styles of architecture: Federal architecture and Greek Revival.
- Amwell Presbyterian Church Parsonage: Built in 1865, this house has a Gothic Revival style. Look closely, and you'll see a cool diamond-shaped window with a special design called a quatrefoil.
Getting Around Reaville
County Route 514 is a main road that goes through Reaville. It enters the community along Old York Road from Ringoes and then continues along Amwell Road towards Neshanic.
