Rebecca Maria Hall (born 3 May 1982) is an English actress and director. She first appeared on screen at age 10 in a 1992 TV show called The Camomile Lawn. Her father, Peter Hall, directed it.
Rebecca started her professional acting on stage in 2002. She won an award called the Ian Charleson Award for her role in Mrs. Warren's Profession. In 2006, she got a big break in the movie The Prestige. Later, in 2008, she starred in Vicky Cristina Barcelona, which earned her a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress.
Rebecca Hall has acted in many different types of films. These include the historical drama Frost/Nixon (2008) and the crime drama The Town (2010). She also appeared in the superhero movie Iron Man 3 (2013) and the fantasy film The BFG (2016). In 2016, she received great reviews for playing news reporter Christine Chubbuck in the movie Christine.

About Rebecca Hall's Early Life
Rebecca Hall was born in London on May 3, 1982. Her mother, Maria Ewing, was an American opera singer. Her father, Sir Peter Hall, was a famous English stage director. He started the Royal Shakespeare Company.
Rebecca's mother had a mixed background. Her father was African-American, and her mother was Dutch. Rebecca learned more about her family history on a TV show called Finding Your Roots. She discovered that her great-grandfather, John William Ewing, was born into slavery. After the American Civil War, he became an important person in the black community in Washington, D.C.
Rebecca's parents separated when she was young and divorced in 1990. She has five half-siblings from her father's side.
Rebecca went to Roedean School and was even the head girl there. She then studied English literature at St Catharine's College, Cambridge. She left college in 2002 before finishing her last year. While at Cambridge, she was very involved in student theater. She even started her own theater company.

Rebecca Hall's first acting job was in 1992. She was nine years old and played young Sophy in her father's TV show, The Camomile Lawn. Her first movie role was in 2006. She played Rebecca Epstein in Starter for 10.
She became well-known for her role as Sarah Borden in Christopher Nolan's movie The Prestige (2006). She also appeared in several TV films like Wide Sargasso Sea (2006) and Joe's Palace (2007).
Becoming a Hollywood Star
Rebecca's career in Hollywood took off when she starred in the Woody Allen film Vicky Cristina Barcelona (2008). She played Vicky, one of the main characters. Her acting was highly praised, and she was nominated for a Golden Globe Award. In the same year, she was in the historical drama Frost/Nixon. She played the girlfriend of David Frost.

In 2014, Rebecca Hall met actor Morgan Spector when they were acting together in a Broadway play. They got married in 2015. Their daughter, Ida, was born in 2018.
