The Studio is a fun American TV show that mixes humor with a bit of awkwardness, called cringe comedy. It also makes fun of things in a clever way, which is called satirical. The show was created by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Peter Huyck, Alex Gregory, and Frida Perez. Seth Rogen also stars as Matt Remick. Matt is the boss of a big movie studio in Hollywood. He tries his best to make great movies, but he also has to deal with what the company wants. Catherine O'Hara, Ike Barinholtz, Chase Sui Wonders, and Kathryn Hahn are also in the show.

The series first came out on Apple TV+ on March 26, 2025. It quickly became very popular! People loved its directing, how it looked, and its smart humor about the movie world. The show is known for using long, continuous shots and for having famous guest stars in every episode.

In its first season, The Studio received many awards. It got 23 nominations at the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards. This was a record for a new comedy show! It then won 13 Emmys, including the award for Best Comedy Series. Seth Rogen also won for Best Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. The show also won the TCA Award for Outstanding Achievement in Comedy. A second season of the show has been announced.

What the Show is About

Matt Remick becomes the new boss of Continental Studios, a movie company that isn't doing very well. Matt loves movies more than anything. He wants to make amazing films. But he also has to make sure the studio earns money. This means sometimes making movies based on popular characters or stories, which is called IP. Matt finds it hard to balance his love for art with the business side of Hollywood.

How the Show Was Made

On November 14, 2022, Apple TV+ announced they would make a new comedy series about the movie business, starring Seth Rogen. Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and James Weaver were executive producers for Point Grey Pictures. Frida Perez, Peter Huyck, Alex Gregory, Alex McAtee, and Josh Fagen also helped produce the show. The companies involved were Point Grey Pictures and Lionsgate Television.

On March 25, 2024, the show was officially named The Studio. Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg also co-wrote and directed the series. Catherine O'Hara, Kathryn Hahn, Ike Barinholtz, and Chase Sui Wonders joined as main actors. Bryan Cranston, Keyla Monterroso Mejia, and Dewayne Perkins were announced as guest stars.

Filming for the series started in March 2024 in Los Angeles. Many scenes were shot at Warner Bros. Studios Burbank. The set for Continental Studios was designed to look like buildings by famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Some filming also took place in real homes designed by architect John Lautner.

In May 2025, it was announced that the show would have a second season.

When it Came Out

The series first showed at SXSW on March 7, 2025. It then became available on Apple TV+ with its first two episodes on March 26, 2025.
