Rebelde (which means Rebel Rio! in English) is a fun Brazilian soap opera. It was made by RecordTV. The show was written by Margareth Boury. It got its ideas from a Mexican soap opera called Rebelde. That show was also based on an original Argentine soap opera, Rebelde Way.

The main actors are Lua Blanco, Arthur Aguiar, Melanie Fronckowiak, Chay Suede, Sophia Abrahão, and Micael Borges. They play six students at a school named "Elite Way." These students become great friends and even start a band together!

What the Story is About

The Elite Way is a very famous school in Brazil. Students there get a great education. They also play fancy sports. Most students live at the school from Monday to Friday. They go home on weekends. Even though the rules are strict, rich families in Rio de Janeiro want their kids to study there.

This is the case for Alice, Roberta, Diego, Carla, and Tomás. They are all rebellious and like to do things their own way. They soon find a common passion: music!

Pedro, an idealist, joins them. He is a new student who will win hearts. He will also bring many changes to the school. The school has both rich students and those on scholarships. This mix often causes problems between the students.

Pedro doesn't realize that he will fall in love with Alice. She will also be very interested in him. Their love story will face many challenges. These include secrets about their families. Also, Pilar, the director's spoiled daughter, likes Pedro too. She will be very jealous.

When Pedro first arrives, he meets Roberta, Diego, Carla, and Tomás. They don't like him right away. But over time, they become his best friends. The romances, problems, funny mix-ups, joys, and adventures don't just happen at school. A lot also happens when they go home on weekends.

Alice wants her dad, Franco, to find love again. Roberta doesn't get along with her mom, Eva. Eva is a famous singer. She has always treated Roberta more like a younger sister. Diego wants his dad, Leonardo Maldonado, to pay more attention to him. So, Diego often causes trouble to get his dad's notice. Tomás is very rich. He lives with his grandmother and two cousins. They only think about spending his money. Carla dreams of being a dancer. She is always with her model sister, Becky. Carla often eats too much when she feels worried.

Pedro moves to a new, simple home in Rio de Janeiro. He lives there with his mom, Beth, and brother, Raul. This area is called Vila Lene. Other interesting people live there too. Teresa is a kind woman who owns the school canteen. Genaro is a fun widower. He runs a lively restaurant with his daughter, Cilene. This restaurant becomes the band's first stage! The family of teacher Lupi also lives there. Lupi is a computer genius who got rich from the internet. Teacher Vicente lives there too. He turned an old factory into a cool place for young people.

Pedro lost his father when he was 13. Since then, he has lived for his mom and brother. Now that he's in Rio, he wants new experiences. He wants to enjoy his youth and be rebellious. He wants to fall in love, sing, and have fun. He also wants to solve a mystery. He wants to find out why his father died. The mystery involves Alice's father.

Even with all the problems, Alice, Pedro, Roberta, Diego, Carla, and Tomás stay together. They share a love for music. They dream of living life to the fullest, as if there's no tomorrow. With lots of rebellious spirit, they will change their own lives and the lives of many others!

Music from the Show

The Rebelde album is the official music from the Brazilian TV show. It came out in 2012 by EMI. This music was inspired by the Mexican TV show Rebelde.

The album has songs sung by the actors from the show. It also features other famous singers. For example, Adriana Calcanhotto sings the theme song for Roberta and Diego. Luiza Possi sings the theme for Eva Messi. Singers from Rede Record, like Hellen Lyu and Octávio Cardozzo, also have songs.

The band Rebeldes even has its own website in the story. The character Téo creates the website. Alice designs the band's logo.

At the same time as the TV show, a real music group called Rebeldes was formed. They sang the main songs from the show.

The band became very popular. This was because the TV show had great ratings in Brazil.
