What Does It Look Like?
The Hesperaloe parviflora has long, narrow leaves that stay green all year round. These leaves have a cool fringe of white, thread-like hairs along their edges. From late spring to mid-summer, the red yucca grows tall flower stalks. These stalks can reach up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) high! On these stalks, you'll see many tubular flowers. They can be red or yellow, and they are very pretty. The scientific name parviflora means "with small flowers," which describes these blooms.
