Redfield is a small town located in Oswego County, New York, in the United States. In 2010, about 550 people lived there.

The Town of Redfield was created in 1800 from a part of the Town of Mexico. It is found in the northeastern corner of Oswego County. Redfield is famous for getting a lot of snow. This is because it is in a "snowbelt" area, where heavy snow often falls due to a weather event called lake effect. In February 2007, Redfield had an amazing 141 inches (358 cm) of snow in just 10 days! This might be a record for New York State.

Where is Redfield Located?

Redfield is in the northern part of New York. The town's northern border touches Jefferson County. Its eastern border is next to Lewis County.

The town covers a total area of about 93.4 square miles (241.9 square kilometers). Most of this area, about 90.1 square miles (233.4 square kilometers), is land. The rest, about 3.4 square miles (8.8 square kilometers), is water. Redfield sits on the Tug Hill Plateau, which is a high area in northwestern New York.
